President Kwesi Nyantakyi has protected why the Ghana Football Association is challenging a written message from the three players who have returned to the Black Stars.
AC Milan’s Kevin-Prince Boateng and the Ayew brothers Andre and Jordan withdrew their retirement choices during the summer holidays but must write officially to the federation to be named up.
The trio are facing a Thursday limit to submit their letters or danger being left out the team for next month’s 2014 World Cup qualifier against Zambia at home.
Asked whether the Ghana FA was not extending the problem, Nyantakyi answered: “We are not.”
“I think we must be fair to both sides because when the players decided to communicate their decisions in writing was there any over stretching there? He added in an interview with Joy FM.”
“There was none so in the same way they should just write to us, it can’t be in your own hand or in typewritten form it doesn’t take any special means for you to write.”
“Somebody will say you are putting emphasis on form or procedure and not substance but I think that both substance and procedure are equally important.”
