President Mahama today requested for improved teamwork between countries in West Africa to support trade, free drive of people and goods in the sub-region.He said it was in union that the sub-region could achieve its rightful spot in the current competitive and unreliable global market trend.President Mahama made the appeal when he received letters of credence from Mr Ademola Oluseyi, the Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana, at the Castle, Osu.Mr Oluseyi acquired over from Mr Musiliu Obanikoro, who had completed his duty tour of Ghana and since returned to Nigeria for re-assignment.President Mahama called that Nigeria was the biggest economy in the sub-region, and Ghana was ready to funding Nigeria to drive the ECOWAS integration program that could pave way for the economic and political.
The President said: The relations between Ghana and Nigeria are historic and based on “common values, culture and people.He said earlier Nigerian High Commissioners to Ghana funded hugely to progress and growth of the Ghana-Nigeria cooperation and hoped the relations would grow further in the future years.President Mahama expected Mr Oluseyi would collaborate with the government to take the relations between Ghana and Nigeria to a greater level and move the ECOWAS integration further.Mr Oluseyi said the historic links between Ghana and Nigeria had gone a long way and pledged to do his best to move the friendship further by promoting trade between the two countries.He said Nigerians observed Ghanaians as their brothers, saying that “Nigeria hold Ghana in high esteem and that would continue in my duty trip of this country”.
