After the recent arrests of the Chinese Nationals in Ghana for illegal mining in Ghana the Deputy Minister for Information and Media Relations, Mr. Felix Quakyi Ofosu said that the recent arrest of illegal miners in the Country was not targeted at only Chinese Nationals.

Quakyi Ofosu Said: “Government wishes to state that it has a responsibility to protect the environment and force persons engaged in illegalities to comply with the laws of the land irrespective of which country they are coming from”.

He made this statement during his daily briefing at the Flagstaff House, Kanda, Accra, on Wednesday.

“Other nationals of Niger, Nigeria and Burkina Faso in addition to Chinese nationals had been deported and it is, therefore, a misrepresentation to say we were targeting only Chinese” He added.

He was in a media conference organized by some Chinese on Tuesday in Accra, which was called to register their reaction on the arrests.

Mr. Quakyi Ofosu also added that when The President John Mahama initiated an inter-ministerial taskforce to deal with the illegal miners, it was given terms of reference and mandate.

He further said that the task force was only going according to the mandate and it would guarantee that anyone who breaks the laws of Ghana would be punished accordingly.

U.S. citizen Peggielene Bartels was chosen as the first female “King” of a poor town of Otuam after the death of her uncle who was a leader of that town.

Her life experience will be shared in a Hollywood movie and the Sixty years old Peggielene Bartels, who is a secretary at Ghana’s embassy in Washington, D.C., has given her official approval to Queen Latifah to play the role of King of Otuam.

She said, “I cannot think of anyone better to play me than Queen Latifah because there is even a little physical resemblance.”

“They had never considered a woman (to be king) before but the elders drew up a list of candidates and my name came out on top. They know I have a strong personality… Women rule with passion so of course they tend to be better kings.” She added.

Recently the Maseru police have got the CCTV footage of the crime scene and the suspect was clearly seen emerging from the rooms carrying a bag with what he stole from the rooms of the richest players in the Black Stars Squad, the video was also posted on Facebook.

The suspect was wearing one of the Black Stars shirts as he appeared in the room. However it’s not clear what will the Maseru police are planning to do with the CCTV footage but they had promised for an investigation on the incedent.

Algerian withdrawn from the CHAN 2014, According to FAF (Algerian Football Federation) website the FAF had decided to withdraw their team A from the ‘qualifiers to CHAN 2014. The final round of CHAN was held in South Africa from 11^th January to 1^st February.

They said that such decision was taken by them because Algeria cannot send a decent team against Libya.

China has made the world’s fastest super computer Tianhe-2 which is almost the double in the speed against the previous fastest supercomputer performing more than 33 quadrillion calculations per second, equivalent to more than 338 million normal PC’s.

China’s new supercomputer Tianhe-2 which means Milky Way 2 has been declared the fastest in top 500 supercomputers all over the world. This supercomputer was established by the country’s National University of Defense Technology. The Chinese government sponsored this project and they did not expect the computer to be fully functional until next year 2015.

The results were published in the TOP500 supercomputers report and according to the report US dominates with 5 supercomputers in the list of Top 10 with computers in second, third, fifth, sixth and eighth place.
