The honorable Kibi District Magistrate Court issued the physical remand of students who beat the teacher to death.
Six students were accused of killing teacher at Salvation Army Basic School in Asiakwa. The students are identified as Richard Amaning, 18-year-old, Mireku Emmanuel, 19-year-old, Philip Kodie, 19-year-old, Offei Frimpong, 19-year-old, Ezekiel Boadu, 20-year-old, and Evans Aboagye alias Ortega, 19-year-old. All of them are facing serious charges under the ‘Act of attempting and committing murder.’
The prosecuting attorney, Margaret Kontoh informed the honorable Kibi Court to proceed the case after acquiring the real ages of students. The real ages will be required through the Birth Registry case. On the other hands, the defense attorney claimed that all six students are below 18 years. The attorney appealed to the court to deal with students according to their real ages.
The defense lawyer stated that two students identified as Mireku Emmanuel, and Philip Kodie were not present at the spot. So its humble request to release these students. Although his appeal was rejected by court and remand was issued. The case will be further reviewed on the 25th of May, 2016. The family of victim appealed the judge to strictly behave with all criminals.
