The implementation of international sanctions has deeply affected our economy, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has revealed. Iran is suffering from record stress due to the results these sanctions poses on Iranian economy worse than the condition during the 1980-88 war.
Mr. Rouhani remarks follow recent Iran-US row after which US has begun to deploy warships and missile system to the Gulf. He stressed on the need of political unity to face international sanctions. While speaking to media in Tehran, he said that nothing harm us during the war except international sanctions implemented on arms purchases. He expressed hope that our country will move forward from the current situation after we get united.
Iran-US intense situation has cast doubts on the future of 2015 nuclear deal. Last year the US abandoned the deal and levied more sanctions on Iran. Now Iran has left major commitments of the deal and demanded relief in sanctions otherwise it will restart the uranium enrichment. Hardliners in Iran have pressurized President Rouhani after US withdrawal from the deal. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Iranian economy will further drop 6% in 2019.
