Martha Bissah, Ghanaian Olympic gold medalist, has persuaded the Minister for Youth and Sports, Mr. Isaac Kwame, to back his words with the act and get the Ghana Athletics Association to lift the ban placed on her 4 years ago.
According to Martha Bissah, that was the only way authorities could show that they were concerned in her challenging for Ghana.
“I am waiting for the minister to lift the ban placed on me by the Ghana Athletics Association. That is what he said when he was selected, so I can only wait before I make any verdict on my association with the national team,” the twenty-one-year-old 800 meters junior Olympics champion told the media.
Explaining the basis behind a recent interview to media, she stated that she did not worry about the nation; Martha Bissah confirmed to this paper that Ghana had cared little about her, hence the requirement for the minister to back his words with the act and lift the bar placed on her.
“This nation has cared little about me. Nobody asks about my situation or how I am living.”
