North Korea has warned to suspend denuclearisation talks with Trump administration. A senior official revealed that Kim Jong-un will soon decide that either to continue negotiations or resume missile testing.
Vice Foreign Minister of North Korea, Choe Son-hui said the ‘US has thrown away golden opportunity’.
Vice Foreign Minister Choe Sun-hui said that the US has lost a golden opportunity at the summit to manage the situation. In the summit, North Korea agreed to dismantle its main Yongbyon nuclear complex on the condition of lifting the sanctions. However, Trump denied the offer by saying that North Korea will have to destroy all its nuclear sites to uplift sanctions.
While speaking in Pyongyang, Ms. Choe said that Mr. Kim will soon officially announce his point of view about future talks with the US. She said that they have “no intention to yield to the US demands in any form, nor are we willing to engage in negotiations of this kind”.
She also criticized the US for posing a gangster-like attitude. Meanwhile, she also illustrated that “personal relations between the two supreme leaders are still good and the chemistry is mysteriously wonderful”.
North Korea has just demanded to uplift five key economic sanctions, not all sanctions, as Mr. Trump said in a statement after the summit.
She further added that ‘the US has missed a golden opportunity this time’. She continued that “we never asked for the removal of sanctions in their entirety.”
Earlier, Mr. Trump and Mike Pompeo claimed that North Korea has requested for full sanctions relief. The first summit between US president Donald Trump and North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un was held in Singapore last year. They meet in a second time in Hanoi in February.
