Just the previous day, Nintendo streamed the last units of Online Event 1 for the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate North America Open for the year 2019. At some stage in that stream, Nintendo cut away shortly from the action in order to return to commentary from hosts, and as the reports say, it is supposed that Nintendo really did this cutaway in order to conceal lag that is faced by the players. This is in spite of the fact that the host systems say that the players are facing no lag.

This thing is not behind the covers that the online experience for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was very bad — yet one further one of the problems there in Switch Online. You are not able to thing Nintendo as being responsible for making a smooth move in order to distract the people from thinking about the lag, but a problematic thing is the fact that they appeared to say lies about it. Maybe the host had not knowledge genuinely about the thing that the players have been facing lag. But a person at Nintendo is supposed to know better.
