Executive of European Studies at the University of Ghana, Professor Ransford Gyampo has lashed out at the Akufo-Addo government for betraying Civil Society Organizations and Experts of different fields.
Educator Gyampo blamed the administration for building up a ‘victor knows all’ pose which makes them hold their perspectives as better than all others in this manner no compelling reason to counsel.
He reviewed how in restriction Akufo-Addo and the NPP always drew in CSOs, Experts on different fields and individuals with specialized know-how on different subjects in connection to issues of national concern.
This quality he said has abruptly vanished after they won the 2016 decisions.
The treatment of the ongoing impasse at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology because of understudies’ show over supposed abuse by security and School experts Professor Gyampo demanded is an ideal case of government’s ‘know everything’ frame of mind.
“When they are in restriction, they counsel Civil Society Organizations, they counsel people. When they get into power, they know everything. They don’t counsel anyone. One of the difficulties of this legislature isn’t ‘Champ takes all’ yet additionally ‘Victor knows all’. They approach their organization as though they know everything except there are things that individuals have advance learning, individuals have earlier information and individuals have assembled mastery in them. A precedent is an ongoing occurrence that occurred in KNUST and the speed with which the administration tried to carry on in an authoritarian way, dissolving overseeing board and considering deciding the decision of the different constituents of the administering committee. Unmistakably, they didn’t have an inkling” he referenced.
