1D1F coordinator, Mrs Konadu
Mrs Gifty Ohene Konadu, the National Coordinator of the One district One factory (ID-IF) Secretariat, has specified that under the 1D1F initiative more factories will be established in 2019.
Secretariat organized the forum in association with the Food and Drugs Authority in Accra. It was arranged for the investors involved in the 1D1F initiative.
Mrs Gifty Ohene Konadu said while speaking, we are going to continue under 1D1F as we got 58 percent proposals in the agricultural sector.
Aim of the forum was to assist the investors to get knowledge for the understanding in the regulatory framework and the processing requirements.
Mrs Gifty Ohene Konadu said compared to the 98% in the advanced countries 30% of the agricultural products are produced from the developing countries, 1D1F initiative will help to minimize the gap between rural and urban communities in term of food consumption and supply.
Also improve in the agricultural sector will help enable Ghana to lower the cost of food imports gradually.
She continued, industrial processing of agricultural produce will result cutting down the waste and to ensure food security it will also enhance the food processing methods that would cause increase in the shelf life of the food in healthy manners.
