According to The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) revelation, it has plan to establish mini laboratories at borders of Ghana. Quality of the imported products will be regulated in border with the establishment of the laboratories.
Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) says, this move is to intensify its enforcement of the Public Health Act 2012, Act 851 to ensure the supreme safety of consumers.
Deputy Minister of Health, Tina Mensah said while addressing the media at the opening of its new ultra-modern mini-laboratory at the Tema Fishing Harbour, the lab will check all fake medicines and unpleasant products coming into Ghana through borders.
Tina Mensah praised the Food and Drugs Authority FDA for the initiative but urged the FDA to ensure that the lab serves the true purpose of its establishment.
