The Director-General of the National Lotteries Authority (NLA), Kofi Osei-Ameyaw, has denied media reports that he has proclaimed his aims to challenge for the Asuogyaman parliamentary seat in the 2020 races.
He said he is centered around the order given to him by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the NLA.
An announcement issued by his office on Tuesday, 6 November, stated: “Our consideration has been attracted to a production by the regarded Daily Guide dated Tuesday, November 6, 2018 [headlined] ‘2 NPP Kingpins Battle for Asuogyaman Seat’. We wish to state insistently that Hon. Kofi Osei-Ameyaw has NOT formally or transparently pronounced his aim to challenge the Asuogyaman parliamentary seat in the 2020 general races.
“Until further notice, Hon. Kofi Osei-Ameyaw is more engaged and focused on the command and support given to him by President Akufo-Addo at the National Lottery Authority. Hon. Kofi Osei-Ameyaw, as a decent worker and steward, is devoted to the execution of President Akufo-Addo’s change plan for the lottery Industry in Ghana.”
It included: “For the evasion of uncertainty, Hon. Kofi Osei-Ameyaw won’t make any proceed onward the Asuogyaman situate without first counseling and looking for endorsement from President Akufo-Addo and the administration of the New Patriotic Party.
“The overall conditions in front of 2020 will decide if Hon. Kofi Osei-Ameyaw will challenge the Asuogyaman situate or not.
“Hon. Kofi Osei-Ameyaw might want to utilize this chance to energize and wish party individuals who have transparently proclaimed their expectation to challenge the Asuogyaman situate in the 2020 general races well, and to express that he is ever arranged to help the gathering’s picked parliamentary contender for the 2020 general decisions.”
