To save the lives of premature babies, Kokrokoo Charities Foundation has installed two new incubators to help in saving lives of babies at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi.
The ‘Project 100 Incubators’ has been started and these two incubators are thefrom those 100 incubators. The project is started by the foundation to help reduce new-born deaths as outlined in the Ghana National Newborn Health Strategy & Action Plan 2014 to 2018.
Across seven regions, the foundation has installed and handed over thirteen incubators to nine hospitals. The incubators were offered by Kwame Sefa Kayi, who is an ace radio presenter and founder of the Kokrokoo Charities Foundation. He also mentioned that the project would help increase consciousness on neo-natal delivery challenges.
Mr. Sefa Kayi stated that the foundation would assemble accessible support for antenatal education and services to make sure the access to health for all through targeted interventions.
He added that the project would also be the center of attention while training of specialist pediatricians and neonatologists in health facilities to help them operate successfully.
He emphasized that when we talk about infant mortality rate, we usually get less report or fewer or probably zero reports of infant mortality due to the not availability of incubators.
Mr. Sefa Kayi further added that they are just doing their little bit in service to their God and to their country, they are very optimistic and hoping that this will impact positively on lives.
