At-least thirty-eight students died after their bus falls off cliff in north of the capital Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The incident occurred in south Wollo zone at Legambo district of Amhara region.
Most of Ethiopia bus accident victims were students of higher learning institutions.
According to local officials, 28 men and 10 women has confirmed died in the road accident. Meanwhile ten passengers survived, however, sustained various types of injuries from serious to minor.
Amhara regional spokesman Nigussu Tilahun also confirmed the news and said that most of the passengers came from nearby towns.
The cause of crash that occurred yesterday remains unknown. “You can guess it might be technical, but the police are investigating it”, he further added. A statement told that most of the victims of road accident belong from higher learning institutions.
Ethiopia has also known as Africa’s fastest-growing economy. The country has extended and modernized its road network in recent years. Many people of the area still rely on buses for long-distance travel.
