Africa is famous for being one of the most unique and exotic continent on Earth. The geography of Africa is breathtaking in the world as the continent has many magnificent sites from deserts to oceans, to mountains to craters to get to one day. Therefore, here is a collection of stunning towns, and spectacular natural features from around incredible continent.
Victoria Falls also called Mosi-oa-Tunya in Africa, is 1,700 meters wide and 108 meters deep. Moreover, it located on the Zambezi River and the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia. Twice the height of Niagara Falls, Victoria Falls is enclosed by the savannah that is further full of rhinos, hippos and lions.
2. Pyramids of Giza
Extraordinary Pyramids and the Sphinx at Giza is a UNESCO World Heritage Site which also known as a Wonder of the World. Outside Cairo, mysterious Giza Complex located just on the borders of the Libyan Desert, had also built to house the dead pharaohs.
The iconic landscape Sossusvlei has often seen in film. It lies in Namibia further in the southern Namib Desert. The presence of clean beauty, dead acacia trees, the deep blue sky, and the burnished red of the sands also make it a stunning vision.
Table Mountain comes into view over Cape Town at the Cape of Good Hope. It forms a huge amphitheater along with the peaks of Signal Hill, Devil’s Peak, and Lion’s Head. Its flat top spreads over a thousand meters above sea level while its highest point is at Maclear’s Beacon.
With its clear waters, pure beaches, Lake Malawi forms a spectacular natural site. The Lake is also home of many rare fish types along with the crocodiles and hippos that lurk along the shores.
A tropical paradise at Tanzania coast in the Indian Ocean, the Zanzibar Archipelago is a beautiful place which enriched too with golden beaches, cerulean waters and swaying palm trees.
From Egypt to Morocco, the Sahara desert is most spectacular.
8. Rwenzori Mountains
The Rwenzori Mountains in western Uganda and Democratic Republic of the Congo have rare plants like lobelias and remarkable mountain peaks further capped with snow, and glaciers, and waterfalls.
9. Blyde River Canyon
The Blyde River Canyon is also one of the largest canyons on Earth which the northern part of the Drakensberg escarpment in South Africa.
10. Danakil Depression
One of hottest, driest and starkest places too on earth is Danakil Depression. It is also a unique geologic formation at the juncture of Ethiopia and Eritrea.
