The head coach of Black Stars, Avram Grant is wary of Ghana’s semi-final clash with Cameroon in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
Black Stars beat DR Congo 2-1 on Sunday to book their place in the semi-final of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, thanks to Andre Ayew’s penalty following a foul on Christian Atsu.
On the other hand, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon secured last four spot by a hard fought 5-4 shoot-out victory over pre-tournament favorites Senegal on Saturday after the game end in a goalless draw after extra-time.
Grant told the media, “I watch their game on Saturday, they were very good, a very tough side to beat.” They played superbly in the group stage and especially against Senegal in the last eight stage of the tournament.
Senegal was favorites and even created more chances compare to Cameroon, but Football is unpredictable.
The semi-final will be a repeat of 2008 clash, when both teams meet in the semi-finals, with the Indomitable Lions ran out 1-0 against Ghana before losing the final to Egypt in the final.
The four-time winners are hoping to end their 35-year drought, having last won the championship back in 1982, but made to the semis of the Nations Cup in the last five tournaments.
