Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu
Leader of Minority, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu has criticized President John Mahama, saying Mahama handing out cash to people for buying votes ahead of 2016 December polls is a sign of desperation and he is sharing cash openly.
According to him, this immoral act by the NDC’s Presidential Candidate is very unfortunate for the party.
During a campaign tour of the Greater Accra region, President Mahama was caught on a novice video footage distributing money to the residents of Abossey Okai, but the government has expressed that this video is fake because Presidents doesn’t carry cash with him while going around.
Julius Debrah, Chief of Staff has dismissed the video on Thursday and clarified that Presidents don’t take money with them during campaign tours.
During an interview with Accra based radio station, Julius Debrah said, ‘May be President was giving out leaflets to the supporters because whenever President walks, he doesn’t keep money with him, it’s a tradition in our country. So these claims are false.’
Responding to this, Minority leader said the justification given by Chief of Staff is quite hilarious, and questioned, if that was not money than was it a toilet paper he was giving to the people?
Speaking in an interview on radio station, Friday he asked this from the NDC members who are dismissing the video.
