The tomato price continues to drop on the various markets across the Ghana. Esoko Ghana Commodity Index indicated that the price of the commodity recorded the highest drop, that is, 10 % for the 4th week in July.
As a result, a medium size tin of tomato is now selling at 7 cedis 90 pesewas.
This was followed by cassava which recorded 2 % drop in price to close the week at 6 cedis 90 pesewas for 3 to 4 tubers.
Also, the price of a medium size tin of maize dropped by one percent and it is now selling at 5 cedis 50 pesewas.
A medium size tin is now selling at 6 cedis 20 pesewas and 5 cedis 60 pesewas per medium size tomato tin respectively.
In the meantime the price of a medium size tuber of yam increased by 5 % and it is now selling at 8 cedis. Soyabean and millet followed with 4 and 1 % gain in prices.
