Grace Omaboe popularly known as Maame Dokono, Veteran on-screen character, Radio and TV Personality and women advocate has discussed political issues in Ghana and her personal experience in the politics.
Speaking to the host of Entertainment Review show, Maame Dokono said she is absolutely out of politics right now since it is tiring and its totally a wastage of money and time, to be very honest.
‘I have quitted politics I am on the low and I won’t be a part of politics once more. It is tiring, it is a complete wastage of money, it is all brimming with untruths and individuals say all kind of unbearable things about you’.
Inquired as to whether she didn’t know all these about political issues before got engaged in it, she said ‘around then I didn’t think it was that way. I thought I was going to do politics for the people of Ghana specially women and I went into politics to help improve my locale since all the streets, most building were in awful conditions among other problems that are begging to be addressed which required consideration’.
As indicated by Maame Dokono the first time when she went to visit her area on the ticket of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), she was just about lynched and she later left NDC to join the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in light of the fact that they were doing a great deal for ladies at the time however she later acknowledged they are all the same.
She revealed that NPP was the main party she bolstered however the things Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings was accomplishing for ladies, kids and the poor in the society pulled in her to join NDC yet it had no effect, they all were same.
