Ecobank grants funds to business journalists
Ecobank Ghana Limited granted more than 35,000 GH¢ every year towards the training program for business journalists as a sponsorship package across the country.
This act will be spearheaded by the JBA, Journalists for Business Advocacy; it is a business journalist’s group that is the voice of businesses in Ghana.
Mr Samuel Ashitey Adjei, the Managing Director of Bank has announced his while addressing to the meeting with executives of Journalists for Business Advocacy in Accra, when the concluding session on him to describe last year’s support.
He explained that it is important to support journalists to be trained so they could be able to build their ability in reporting business news to the reading interest of public.
Mr Suleiman Mustapha, The General Secretary of JBA said that organization was born out of training program started by BUSAC, Business Sector Advocacy Challenge; it is serving as a center point for business on the media face.
He said that currently, we have the membership across all over the country excluding Volta Region, and we have advocated many business issues and challenges that they have face and now the will brought the attention of policy makers to talk about.
He said that the group is grateful to the bank for its help previous year during the training program to provide journalists with
necessary knowledge on how to make report on SMEs, small and medium enterprises.
He said that we are wishing that Ecobank will sponsor our training program on annual event, and attach in their annual calendar or make it a communal social responsibility program.
