Sellas Bobor Tetteh, the Ghanaian U-20 is currently focusing on one of the slots in the upcoming FIFA world cup after playing in the African Youth championship (AYC) which began yesterday in Senegal.
Ghana U-20 known as, Black Satellites will start their campaign in the African Youth championship (AYC) against South Africa’s Amajita before facing Mali and Zambia.
The coach said, “Our prime focus is to play well in this tournament to make sure, we will qualify for the World Cup.”
They won the title in 2009, when they beat Cameroon 2-0 in the final, and finished second place in the last edition, when they lose to Egypt on penalties 5-4 after the game ends in a 1-1 draw.
We want to finish in top four to make sure we qualify for the big tournament, because it will be very disappointing for both the players and the fans, if we didn’t make it to the World Cup.
That will only be possible through hard work, because you really can’t predict in football, said Sellas Bobor Tetteh.
The two teams from each group will make it to the semi-finals and also will represent Africa at the FIFA U-20 World Cup later this year.
